Summary of Specifications:
The property to be demolished is a County-owned three level parking garage built in 1978, located between Chestnut and Court Streets, Morristown, New Jersey, comprising approximately 25,000 square feet. It is located on Block 7601, Lots 1, 2 and 3. The garage has three entrances. For assistance in locating the property, a Tax Map has been included. The garage is located at the western end of the County Complex and currently provides parking for Courthouse employees.
Consultants should be aware that the property borders on the Morristown Historic District and is adjacent to a National Historic Park Site. As well, other sites of an historic nature may be in the vicinity. Due to its location, particular attention should be paid to hours of work, traffic control and demolition activities as well as notification to and approval from any required authorities.
The contract will include engineering services covering the following activities: preparation of bid specifications for building demolition, and monitoring of demolition activities. Consultant will be available to provide assistance in the contractor selection process, to include pre-bid meetings, bid opening and contractor review. The Consultant shall, for the benefit of the County, monitor all phases and aspects of the project to ensure compliance with all Federal, State & local regulatory requirements concerning demolition. The Consultant will attend design and review meetings as required to define the extent, phasing and schedule of demolition activities.
The Project is to proceed within two (2) weeks after the issuance of a Notice to Proceed from the Morris County Engineer’s Office. Consultant team must be available during both the Pre-Construction and Construction Phase of the Project. Duties shall include those outlined in “Tasks”. All work for professional engineering services to provide final design and construction documents under this Contract should be completed within ninety (90) calendar days.
