RFP-JA- Eng Design Courtroom Conversion 2014 - Engineering Design Services, Courtroom Conversion

Summary of Specifications:
The County of Morris is soliciting proposals from Professional Architectural/Engineering Consultants, licensed to practice in the State of New Jersey, to provide Final Design and Construction Administration Services for the conversion of existing first floor office space in the Morris County Court House Building into a non-jury courtroom with adjoining judicial offices. 

The County Court House building is a unique structure originally constructed in 1827 and listed on the National and New Jersey Registers of Historic Places. Over the past century the building has gone through several additions and enlargements, with the last being in the 1970s. Except for updates to the electrical system and the addition of central air conditioning, the exterior and most of the original interior have been maintained. It is the County and Court’s desire to fully utilize existing first floor space currently occupied by one of the Sheriff’s Divisions to create a courtroom with adjoining judicial offices for a Superior Court Judge and ancillary office staff. 

The project shall commence by September 1st, 2014, or after issuance of a Notice to Proceed from the Morris County Purchasing Agent. All work for professional engineering services under this Contract should be competed within ninety (90) days. It is estimated that construction administration services will take one hundred twenty (120) days.
