RFB-S13-002 Runway Sand and Miscellaneous Aggregates - Runway Sand and Miscellaneous Aggregates

Summary of Specifications:
Through this Request for Bids (RFB), the Wayne County Airport Authority (Airport Authority) hereby invites businesses that meet the qualifications set forth herein to submit Bids to supply the Airport Authority with dried snow and ice control sand (Group A) and/or miscellaneous aggregates (Group B) on an as-needed basis for both Detroit Metro and Willow Run Airports. Bidders may bid on either Group A, Group B, or both Groups. The Wayne County Airport Authority uses approximately 4,443 tons of dried snow and ice control sand per winter season between Detroit Metro and Willow Run Airports (Airports). Both Airports also use a combined total of approximately 1,090 tons of other miscellaneous aggregates such as backfill sand, stone for pavement sub-base, clean stone and other bulk materials such as topsoil and hardwood mulch. All materials are to be delivered to the Maintenance facilities located at Detroit Metro and Willow Run Airports.
