190 034B - Reconstruction Runway 3L/21R and Associated Taxiways

The Wayne County Airport Authority (Airport Authority) is soliciting bids from general contractors, construction managers and other businesses for the Reconstruction of Runway 3L/21R and Associated Taxiways (Project) at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW).  This project includes work associated with: (1) the removal of approximately 610,000 square yards of Portland cement and asphalt airfield pavement, with associated electrical, drainage, signs, and utility work, and (2) construction of approximately 420,000 square yards of new runway and taxiway Portland cement pavement and 280,000 tons of asphalt pavement and base with associated electrical (1,000,000 lf wire), drainage (118,000 lf underdrain pipe), 750,000 CY earthwork, signs, and utility work, in accordance with the drawings, specifications and other Contract Documents.  This work is scheduled to be completed in two construction seasons. (The Contract resulting from this solicitation is subject to Davis-Bacon Act Wages Requirements.)
