Summary of Specifications:
INTRODUCTION & GENERAL INFORMATION: Through this Request for Bids (RFB), the Wayne County Airport Authority (Airport Authority) hereby invites businesses that meet the qualifications set forth herein to submit Bids for the purchase of recording equipment for the Wayne County Airport Authority’s Public Safety Division. The equipment will be used to record radio dispatch operations, including 32 analog circuits as well as seven (7) Motorola trunked radio frequencies. The Airport Authority is seeking a complete recording solution, including equipment, installation and training. The Airport Authority’s Dictaphone Prolog voice logging equipment was purchased in 1999. The Dictaphone Company voice recording assets have since been bought by NICE Systems, the worldwide leader in voice storage systems. The Prolog system is used to record telephone and radio traffic associated with the Public Safety Division and others. The recordings are stored on data tape for approximately one year depending on the number of available tapes. An individual tape can hold up to approximately 14 days of information depending on the type of recording.
The Prolog system was purchased with a five year maintenance plan and a three year renewal was added. The system is now only being repaired on a parts available basis, however, meaning that it has reached the end of its production/support cycle with the company and requires replacement.
