Summary of Specifications:
INTRODUCTION: Through this Request for Bids (RFB), the Wayne County Airport Authority (Airport Authority) hereby invites businesses who meet the qualifications set forth herein to submit bids to provide inspection, testing and maintenance of fire suppression systems at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport and Willow Run Airport.
GENERAL INFORMATION: The fire suppression systems at Detroit Metropolitan Airport currently are monitored and supervised by the Authority on a 24 hour/day, 7day/week basis and encompass multiple types of occupancies. All testing, modifications, maintenance and improvements being conducted on any system must be coordinated with various authorities within the Airports prior to the commencement of any such work. Strict adherence to the National Fire Protection Codes for maintenance of these systems is required and must be performed and supervised by the Authority having jurisdiction. Deluge and fire suppression systems operate as follows: a) At the same time, the alarm system must also monitor the status of the fire suppression system for it’s readiness to engage if necessary. b) Under fire conditions, the alarm and fire suppression system must activate should the fire suppression system be activated, and operate the fire suppression system for its desired design and intent.
