Summary of Specifications:
1)PROJECT OVERVIEW: Through this Solicitation for Quotes (SFQ), the Wayne County Airport Authority (Authority) hereby invites businesses that meet the qualifications set forth herein to submit quotes to provide cross control inspection and management services for Detroit Metropolitan Airport (Detroit Metro) and Willow Run Airport. A cross connection is a connection between two separate piping systems, one containing potable water and the other water which may be contaminated. The Detroit Metropolitan and Willow Run Airports include over 250 structures on approximately 8,000 acres. Both Detroit Metro and Willow Run Airports are 24 hour operations and while repair recommendations are a requirement, actual repair work is not a part of the contract and is intended to be handled separately. Detroit Metro Airport’s water system had previously been owned and maintained by the City of Romulus. In 2002, ownership of the water system was transferred to the Airport Authority, which has performed all necessary inspections/repairs since that time. Due to the ranges in age of the facilities at Detroit Metro and Willow Run Airports, the condition of the water system varies. The Airport Authority currently has a partially documented inventory; however, the successful Respondent (Contractor) will be required to provide updates as necessary.
