Summary of Specifications:
Through this Request for Bids (RFB), the Wayne County Airport Authority (Airport Authority) hereby invites businesses that meet the qualifications set forth herein to submit bids for construction services to construct a reinforced concrete pad, earth berm, gravel roadway, electrical power and grounding, and security fencing associated with storage containers for explosives at the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (Airport). The major items of work for this project are: - Group #1: Site & Concrete - Group #2: Electrical & Grounding Systems - Group #3: Security Fencing Businesses may submit bids on all, any combination of, or a single Group of the total work for this project. See Section 3, Basis of Award and Sequence of Work paragraphs, and Section 5, Bid Form and Price Page for more information. The Airport Authority’s existing Police Explosive Magazine Storage is currently located adjacent to the Airport Police Building on Middlebelt Road. This project will construct a new facility near the Public Safety Training Facility within the Air Operations Area (AOA) of the Airport, at the south end of the West Service Road, to allow for the relocation of Explosive Magazine Storage Containers by others.
