Project Description: The RFP consists of electrical and lighting contractor services at Southgate Anderson High School located in Southgate, MI. The scope of work is detailed in attachment A2. The Owner desires to commence construction on or before November 1st, 2025 and be substantially complete by March 1st, 2026. Scope of work includes providing labor, supervision, materials, permits (if required), tools and equipment necessary to perform the electrical demolition and installation work as described in this RFP. The Scope of Services are detailed and described in the Contract Documents included in Attachment A.2. Project Scope: The site of this work will take place at Southgate Anderson High School. Provide labor, materials, tools and equipment required to perform the following demolition, electrical and lighting scope as noted below. The scope of this work includes, but is not limited to, supplying labor and materials necessary to install forty-four (44) light fixtures aimed towards the football stadium and, and four (4) security fixtures aimed towards baseball/softball fields along with all lighting wiring connections required and electrical connections to the building. Lighting must maintain high school required IES sports lighting standards if alternate number of fixtures are proposed. Existing poles will be used but new arms are to be supplied and installed for all lights. The lighting specified in the bid drawings should be used as the base design, however the district will review any acceptable alternate lighting packages. Alternates should be submitted to the district for review and approval prior to the bid submission deadline. All lighting controls shall be ASHRAE 90.1-2013 compliant. Site restoration should also be included in the contractor’s proposal along with any debris/material removal necessary to complete the work. Firms to include installation schedule along with any applicable lead times. • Reuse of existing poles - stadium lighting to receive new galvanized arms, fixtures, and stainless steel hardware. • Software - Synapse or comparable software to control lights included. Specs provided in attachment A.3. • Site restoration to include topsoil and hydroseeding of any disturbed area in the spring following construction. Hydroseeding to take place during the spring to ensure proper growth. • Must protect track and turf field, existing concrete, fencings, etc. • 25-year warranty on fixtures, controls, and data boxes. • Controller wired into press box and be fully functional from press box. If wireless is proposed in your bid, then annual contract to maintain usability should be included for lifetime of product. • All controls must be included in bid. • Basis of design to be 480 volts. • Safety zone/lift plan must be predetermined prior to installing fixtures. • Michigan based service provider to be proposed. • Licensed to performed work in the state of Michigan. • DTE rebates to be factored into price by contractor • All rental or installation materials to be included in bid. • 16 hours of training to be included in proposal. • All permitting and fees to be included. Contractor to to be responsible for producing drawings and submitting/pulling all required electrical permitting and inspections. • Photometrics must be submitted in proposal at time of bid. SOUTHGATE COMMUNITY SCHOOLS ANDERSON STADIUM LIGHTING AND ELECTRICAL RFP REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) –CONTRACTOR SERVICES A.2 SCOPE OF SERVICES September 2, 2025 2 • Project to be completed following the 2025 football season (November 1st pending playoffs) and be completed prior to June 1st, 2026.
Alternate 1 • Contractor to provide pricing for RGB lighting. This includes any additional controls, software, additional arms, installation and materials. All lighting for the parking lot and drive should be controlled and wired through the district Building Management System. Lighting on the tennis courts should have separate on and off controls via switches or an app to control on and off. All light poles and bollards are to be square and not round in style to match existing poles around the campus. Electrical box/rough-in for future power accommodation is also included in the project and is noted in the drawings. Occupancy sensor for parking lot lights and driveway lights is required. The drawings provided in attachment A.3 are diagrammatic and indicate the size and general arrangement of piping, wiring, equipment, etc. Exact locations and routings shall be determined in the field by contractors. Contractor will be required to pull any necessary permits required to complete this work.
