Summary of Specifications:
Oakland County Purchasing Division is requesting SEALED BIDS for a maintenance contract to supply all labor, materials, incidentals and means of work to provide laundering services for County owned, non-County owned (NOG) linens and laundry per the specifications outlined below.
The Contractor's services shall include the pick up of soiled linens/laundry and delivery of cleaned linens and hanging/folded laundry as required by departments. This shall include, but is not limited to, providing racks, carts, or plastic bags on wire racks as appropriate; logging of weight both in and out; maintaining these weights or count records on all shipments and provide suitable procedures to protect items from cross contamination.
The contractor shall be responsible for weekly laundering approximately 20 lab coats from the Health Department, 675 pounds of children’s clothing, 1,500 pounds of linens from Children’s Village, 30 pounds of linen and 9 lab coats from the Medical Examiner’s office. Employees are generally issued 3 lab coats each. These are estimated amounts only and no guarantee of either minimum or maximum weekly quantities are expressed. All items shall be laundered in accordance with best practices of the trade. The contract will be based on the current requirements of the County. Amounts and types of linens are estimated by current use by the County. Laundry will be picked up and delivered to the County by the Contractor at the specified locations.
Services shall be provided and invoiced to the below listed Divisions. Contractor shall contact each Division to establish schedules and protocol.
