Oakland County Purchasing in conjunction with Oakland County Human Resources Department is issuing this Request for Proposal (RFP) requesting sealed proposals from interested vendor(s) specializing in offering Health Screening and Health Risk Assessment services.
Background Oakland County government cares about its employees, retirees and family members. Oakland County began its Wellness Initiative in September 2006. The mission of this program is to assist Oakland County employees, retirees and their families with establishing and maintaining healthy behaviors in order to improve their overall quality of life, enhance productivity at work, and reduce long term employee/employer health care costs.
This wellness program provides all employees, retirees and family members with an opportunity to participate in health education and promotion activities, learn about health risk factors and ways to decrease health risk factors in an effort to maintain or improve current and long term health. The program assists employees, retirees and family members with making voluntary behavior choices to improve their health and enhance their quality of life.
It is Oakland County’s belief that the County can realize both tangible and intangible benefits from a well executed health promotion campaign. Notable benefits will be to improve productivity, reduce sick time/absenteeism, reduce health care costs, reduce worker’s compensation claims, reduce injuries, lower employee turnover, improve employee morale, and increase employee loyalty and happiness.
Health care costs continue to spiral out of control posing budgetary challenges for most employers, including Oakland County. We are optimistic that our wellness program will have the added value of slowing the rising cost of health care and assist us in our efforts to maintain the quality benefit package we have come to expect and appreciate. Oakland County is making a long term commitment to the health and well-being of its employees, retirees and their family members through this wellness program.
