Summary of Specifications:
Supply all labor, materials, incidentals, and means of work to provide consulting, testing, training, and inspection services for asbestos hazards for the period January 01, 2013 through December 31, 2012.
The contractor’s responsibilities shall include:
• Inspect various County facilities for the presence of asbestos and lead hazards. • Develop the necessary specifications to repair or remove hazardous asbestos containing materials. • Provide field inspection and air monitoring services for removal and repair projects as required. • Develop asbestos operations and maintenance programs as needed. • Train maintenance personnel to conform to State requirements. • All sampling shall be done in accordance with E.P.A. document entitled “Asbestos in Buildings- Simplified Sampling Scheme for Friable Surfacing Materials” dated September 1985. • All test results, reports, and recommendations shall be submitted in duplicate to Project Manager. • Contractor shall retain personnel approved for asbestos training; and use only certified laboratory facilities; both in accordance with the E.P.A. directed national quality assurance program for asbestos analysis.
