The Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Office will receive sealed proposals from general contractors. The work in general involves a 170 square foot renovation of the existing jail visitors lobby.

A mandatory Pre-Bid meeting will be held at the Hillsdale County Jail public entrance on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at 1:00 PM. Interested General Contractors must attend.

The deadline for receiving sealed proposals is Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at 2:00 PM local time (Eastern Standard Time) at the Hillsdale County Clerk’s Office. Bids received after 2:00 PM on the due date will not be accepted. Faxed or e-mailed bids are not acceptable. Bids will be opened publically and read aloud at the Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Office shortly after 2:00 PM.

Electronic documents are available in ‘PDF’ format from the office of the Architect.

Bid security in the amount of 5% of the base bid must accompany each proposal. Successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for 100% Labor & Materials Bonds and Performance Bonds. The cost of said bones shall be included in the proposal.

The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, either in whole or in part, to award a contract to other than the low bidder, to waive any irregularities and/or informalities, and, in general, to make awards in any manner deemed to be in the best interest of Hillsdale County

The selected General Contract and Sub-Contractors will provide a list of all employees that will be performing the work at the Jail. The Sheriff will do background checks on these employees.
