ITB-W-8027 - Hauling of Ash & Sludge Cake

Summary of Specifications:
Furnish hauling services for the disposal of residuals from the Waste Water Treatment Plant to the primary landfill (Pine Tree Acres) or the secondary landfill (Woodland Meadows), both owned and operated by Waste Management.The WWTP, southeast of 14 Mile Road and Van Dyke Avenue, produces dewatered or incinerated biosolids. We need container trucks with a capacity of 20 cubic yards or greater to haul: 1. Grit dewatered from a classifier and mixed with incinerator ash. In 2006-2007, approximately 234 cubic yards of grit were mixed with incinerator ash for final disposal. 2.Ash produced in the incinerator by the combustion of filter cake is the main product to be hauled from the Treatment Plant. In 2007-2008, a total of 5,084 tons of ash were hauled. In 2007-2008, a total of 2,630 tons of filter press cake were hauled.
