Summary of Specifications:
The proposals will be for Street Trees. The specifications are listed in the bid proposal form on file in the Office of the City Clerk.
Bare Root Proposal Only: If the Bare Root Proposal is the only section of the bid awarded, the successful bidder shall be required to verify with the City of Troy Representative, Stephen Cooperrider, that automobile liability and Worker’s Compensation insurance is current and meets State requirements. The “Company Representative” does warrant, by signing the bid document, that the above listed insurance coverage will be carried during the term of the contract. Alternate Proposal - Installation of Trees: A successful bidder furnishing labor on City/public premises does agree to hold the City harmless from liability loss, and also have his workers covered by Worker's Compensation, and furnish a certificate of insurance showing coverage for bodily injury and property damage and worker's compensation to Mr. Stephen Cooperrider/ Risk Manager within 48 hours of a verbal request. The "Company Representative" does warrant that by signing the bid document, the "additional insured endorsement" will be included in the Insurance Coverage supplied to the City as part of the specified requirements. Installation of Trees (If bidding Alternate Proposal - Installation): A cashier’s check, certified check, or money order in the amount of $1,500.00 must accompany the bid to insure the bid. The two lowest unsuccessful bidders will have their bid surety returned after the bid award. BID BONDS ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE. The bid surety will be returned to the successful bidder upon successful completion of all contract requirements.
All other bidders will have their bid deposits returned within 72 hours after the bid has been opened. If the current supplier has a bid surety on file with the City of Troy for this contract, he/she may request to move the bid surety forward for this bid process. It shall be the responsibility of the vendor to make sure the deposit is still on file. A bid deposit will not be required if bidding the bare root proposal.
