PINE DRIVE STORM SEWER PUMP STATION REPAIRS
Public Opening 5/21/2018

The City of Romulus is requesting bids from qualified and experienced contractors for the repairs needed to the Pine Storm Station (Storm Sewer) located at 15409 Pine Drive, Romulus, Michigan.  This solicitation is for the direct replacement of distressed and fatigued items listed in the scope of work.

  1. Qualified individuals and firms wishing to submit a bid must use the forms provided by the City.  Bid forms and specifications may be obtained from the MITN Purchasing Group page of BidNet Direct at http://www.mitn.info/.  Bids may be rejected unless made on the forms included with the bidding documents.  Copies of documents obtained from any other source are not considered official copies.
  2. Mandatory Site Access/Site Inspection will be held at 1:00 p.m. sharp on Tuesday, May 1st to allow contractors the opportunity to view and inspect. This will be the only time during bidding that contractors will be allowed to inspect the station.  The station will be opened for approximately for a 3 hour period to allow for access by the contractors.
  3. Clarifications, modifications, or amendments may be made to this solicitation at the discretion of the City.  Any and all addenda issued by the City will be posted on the MITN Purchasing Group page of BidNet Direct.  All interested parties are instructed to view the MITN website regularly for any issued addenda.  It is the responsibility of the bidder to obtain all issued addenda and acknowledge receipt of said addenda by including a printed copy of each addendum as part of the required documents for this solicitation and to list the addendum and sign and date the “Acknowledgment of Receipt Addenda Form supplied in the bid documents.
  4. A total of three copies (one marked “Original” and two marked “Copy”) of the bid must be submitted together in one sealed package/envelope and returned to the City Clerk's Office no later than 2:30 P.M., Monday, 5/21/2018.  Bids should be addressed using the Bid package label provided in the ITB documents.
  5. At approximately 2:45 p.m., local time all timely received bids are to be publicly opened and read.
  6. The successful Bidder will be required to submit proof of all insurance required by the ITB documents and copies of all required endorsements.
  7. The City reserves the right to postpone the opening without notification and also reserves the right to reject all bids and proposals and to waive any minor informality or irregularity in proposals received and to award the bid in whole or in part. A contract may ultimately be awarded to the lowest most responsive and responsible company, as determined in the sole discretion of the City of Romulus or otherwise in a manner deemed by the City to be in its own best interest.

    Event Note

    Access to the City of Romulus site referenced herein is on private property and viewing the site will be made available only during the scheduled mandatory site inspection. The site can only be accessed via the private property drive and parking lot of the business located at 15385 Pine Drive.  The mandatory site inspection will be held on May 1, 2018 and will begin sharply at 1:00 p.m.  Contractors must sign in with the DPW representative on site for the site inspection. The pump station will be opened for inspection by DPW crews and this will be the only time during bidding that contractors will be allowed to inspect the station.  Contractors present at 1:00 will have access to the station for approximately 3 hours to allow ample time for inspection of the existing conditions of the site.  Please be advised that Contractors are strictly forbidden from accessing the site except during the allotted time for the site inspection process.
