RFP-RH-07-016 - Self Contained Breathing Apparatus

Summary of Specifications:
The City of Rochester Hills is requesting proposals from qualified companies to provide self contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) consisting of the following major sub-assemblies: 1) cylinder (45 minute type) and valve assembly for storing breathing air under pressure; 2) full face piece assembly; 3) an automatic dual path redundant pressure reducing regulator; 4) a removable, face piece-mounted, positive pressure breathing regulator with air-saver switch , low-pressure alarm and purge value; 5) a harness and back frame assembly for supporting the equipment on the body of the wearer; 6) a shoulder strap mounted, remote gauge indicating cylinder pressure; 7) a spare cylinder. Proposals shall also include six (6) supplied air breathing apparatus (SABA) with 10-minute escape bottles and four (4) RIT packs with cylinders and associated airlines. The successful proposer must be a factory-authorized distributor to sell the equipment specified herein. 

The self contained breathing apparatus shall meet NFPA 1981 Open Circuit SCBA for Firefighters-2007 edition, as well as NIOSH and OSHA requirements.
