Summary of Specifications:
The City of Rochester Hills is soliciting quotations from qualified and experienced contractors to provide all labor and related equipment required for the installation of replacement ceiling tiles (the City will provide the ceiling tiles—approximately 8,900 square feet utilizing existing ceiling grids) for the Rochester Hills Fire Department Station #1, 1111 Horizon Court, Rochester Hills, Michigan 48309. Contractor shall take into account the sensitive location and conduct the work in such a manner as to ensure the least obstruction to visitors and staff. Care must be taken to keep Fire Department ingress and egress unobstructed for emergency response vehicles. Contractor must not block driveways and parking areas. Because the Fire Department Headquarters is a secure facility, contractors are required to report in and provide identification when entering the building. Due to ongoing work currently being performed by other contractors, it is anticipated that the installation of replacement ceiling tiles may take place in early September. Correspondence or inquires made directly to firms regarding their Quote from other persons are to be directed to the employee designated above for appropriate review and response. The City reserves the right to postpone the due date for its own convenience. A Mandatory Walk-Through will be held on August 5, 2010 @ 9:30 a.m. Contractors are to meet at Fire Department Headquarters – Station #1, 1111 Horizon Court, Rochester Hills, Michigan 48309. Because the Fire Department Headquarters is a secure facility, contractors are required to report in and provide identification when entering the building. The purpose of the Mandatory Walk-Through will be to become familiar with the premises specified and the work to be performed according to the specifications; the deadline for questions will be at the conclusion of the Mandatory Walk-Through. ATTENDANCE AT THE WALK-THROUGH IS MANDATORY IN ORDER TO SUBMIT A QUOTATION. Contractors not in attendance at the Walk-Through will NOT be eligible to submit a quotation on this project. It shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to determine quantities of materials required; the City will purchase the materials. The Contractor will be responsible for labor and installation only and shall incorporate any such items in his/her cost.
