Summary of Specifications:
The City of Rochester Hills is soliciting quotations from qualified and experienced contractors to provide all labor and related equipment required for the installation of ceiling grid and tiles; the City will provide the ceiling tiles. There is NO existing ceiling grid system; the Contractor shall be responsible to provide the ceiling grid system materials and to install the ceiling grid system. The grid shall be installed just above the existing fire suppression system. Some edge grid work may have to be applied to metal. Edge grid shall be applied with manufacturer required fasteners to block wall. The work to be done at the Rochester Hills Fire Department Station #1, 1111 Horizon Court, Rochester Hills, Michigan 48309. The approximate ceiling area is Ninety-Five feet (95’) by Ten Feet Two Inches (10’2”). The ceiling height is approximately between nine (9’) feet to sixteen (16’) feet. Pricing is also required to level existing ceiling tiles in all areas and ensure all fire suppression sprinkler heads are at the proper level with the ceiling tile; details to be provided at the Mandatory Walk-Through. The City reserves the right to postpone the due date for its own convenience. A Mandatory Walk-Through will be held on October 12, 2011 @ 10:30 a.m. Contractors are to meet at Fire Department Headquarters – Station #1, 1111 Horizon Court, Rochester Hills, Michigan 48309. Because the Fire Department Headquarters is a secure facility, contractors are required to report in and provide identification when entering the building. The purpose of the Mandatory Walk-Through will be to become familiar with the premises specified, the work to be performed according to the specifications, to measure the work area and to provide an opportunity for questions; the deadline for questions will be at the conclusion of the Mandatory Walk-Through. ATTENDANCE AT THE WALK-THROUGH IS MANDATORY IN ORDER TO SUBMIT A QUOTATION. Contractors not in attendance at the Walk-Through will NOT be eligible to submit a quotation on this project. It shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to determine the grid system materials required, to provide the grid system materials; and to install the grid system and ceiling tiles (the City will ONLY provide the ceiling tiles).
