The City of Rochester Hills is accepting proposals from qualified firms to provide design build services for Natural Raised Garden Columbarium at Van Hoosen Jones-Stoney Creek Cemetery. Sealed proposals will be received by the City of Rochester Hills at the Purchasing Division Office, 1000 Rochester Hills Drive, Rochester Hills, Michigan 48309 until 3:00 P.M. Local time, Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at which time and place the names of proposers will be announced. A SITE VISIT MEETING will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Van Hoosen Jones-Stoney Creek Cemetery located at 750 E. Tienken Road, (Tienken Road and Sheldon Road) Rochester Hills, Michigan for interested proposers to become familiar with the premises and the work to be performed. The City of Rochester Hills officially distributes bid documents from the Purchasing Division or through the Michigan Intergovernmental Trade Network (MITN). Copies of bid documents obtained from any other source are not considered official copies. Only those vendors who obtain bid documents from either the Purchasing Division or the MITN System are guaranteed access to receive addendum information, if such information is issued. BACKGROUND INFORMATION The City of Rochester Hills is a residential community in Oakland County, Michigan, and covers 36 square miles of suburban community. The City of Rochester Hills owns and operates the VanHoosen Jones Stoney Creek Cemetery located at 570 E. Tienken Road, approximately one (1) mile east of Rochester Road. The Van Hoosen Jones-Stoney Creek Cemetery is adjacent to the Stoney Creek Historic District. The land was donated to Avon Township by the late Dr. Sarah Van Hoosen Jones in 1956. It is comprised of 16.8 acres with rolling terrain. It opened in 1978 and consists of 11,200 burial plots each with two spaces. The cemetery is located within the city limits of the City of Rochester. It is a public cemetery. SCOPE OF WORK The City of Rochester Hills is seeking a qualified company who is actively engaged in the design and construction of a natural raised garden columbarium. It is the City’s desire to construct a new, aesthetically pleasing, natural raised garden columbarium that provides individuals an alternative to in-ground burial for cremated remains at the cemetery.
