Summary of Specifications:
The City of Rochester Hills and the Older Persons’ Commission requires LAWN MOWING SERVICES FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) FUNDED HOME CHORE PROGRAM – 2008 SEASON for qualified residents 62 years of age and older and handicapped residents to the extent that Community Development Block Grant funds are available. Lawn mowing services are to be provided every week for the first four (4) weeks in May, 2008, and then every other week until October 20, 2008 for the participating residents. The Contractor shall cut and trim all areas on the property for all Mobile Home lots and lots not exceeding one (1) acre. The Contractor shall cut and trim approximately one (1) acre nearest to, or surrounding, the house on all properties exceeding one (1) acre. The driveway and walkway are to be edged to define those areas. Obstacles on the lawn which are easily moveable, i.e. lawn furniture, picnic tables, hoses, etc., are to be moved in order to efficiently mow the entire area. It will be the responsibility of the resident to remove any dog residue prior to mowing. Any weeds around the home, garage, fence, trees, shrubs and any other needed areas must be trimmed. All grass clippings are to stay on the lawn. The driveway and walkways are to remain free of all debris, clippings, etc and the property is to be left in a neat and orderly condition upon completion of work. Contractor is to provide supervision, labor, equipment, services and expertise required to perform lawn mowing services. Proposer will be responsible for carefully examining the proposed work sites and to judge for themselves the nature of the work to be done. Proper equipment and care shall be used to prevent unnecessary damage to turf areas, trees and/or mulch areas around trees, shrubs and/or flowerbeds. Work must be performed between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday; work can be done on weekends and holidays if weather has prevented mowing as scheduled. Businesses owned by women or minorities are strongly encouraged to apply.
