The City of Port Huron is seeking proposals from qualified professional planners to update its Comprehensive Master Plan.
In 2017, the City adopted its current Comprehensive Master Plan (commonly known as the Master Plan), which included minor amendments. Prior to that, the last comprehensive update occurred in 2002, developed with significant public input, including targeted focus groups and participants at community visioning events. This was the first comprehensive update of the Plan since 1967.
Given the length of time since the last comprehensive update, the City of Port Huron is seeking a firm to assist in a full revision of the Master Plan.
The City has already completed the public feedback portion of the update. Two public forums were held, a community survey was completed by over 450 residents, and two public hearings were conducted on the current Master Plan. All collected public feedback will be shared with the selected firm.
The City has received a Housing Readiness Incentive Grant from the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) to update its Master Plan, with a focus on expanding housing supply and improving affordability. Housing will be a central component of the Master Plan update.
Interested firms are invited to submit proposals to assist the City in completing this update. The required services are outlined in the following sections of this Request for Proposals.
