The City of Port Huron is requesting bids for the supply of liquid sodium hypochlorite for our Water Filtration Plant and, Wastewater Treatment Plant for an estimated annual supply of 177,000 gallons, at 15% concentration.
It must conform to AWWA Standard B300-92 / NSF Standard 60 for liquid sodium hypochlorite solution. Shipments shall contain approximately 15% available chlorine and shall not contain any soluble material or organic substances capable of producing harmful health effects on those consuming potable water treated with sodium hypochlorite. The solution shall be clear with no more than 0.15% insoluble matter by weight.
Additionally, please provide a written statement from your chemical or material supplier(s) stating that PFAS substances are not present in the material or chemical formulation of your product(s) and are not formed during manufacturing. Include any sample testing results to verify statement.
Product to be shipped F.O.B. destination to either the Water Filtration Plant, 1200 Pine Grove Ave. or the Wastewater Treatment Plant, 100 Merchant Street, Port Huron, MI 48060. Shipments shall conform to current D.O.T. regulations, delivered in thoroughly clean tanker trucks of 4,500 gallons. The net weight of delivered material shall not deviate by more than 2.5% (+/-) from the scale weight.
