The 2024 Earmark Water Main Replacement focuses on replacing outdated water mains, while upsizing and improving the design characteristics of the water supply system in the community. This project includes water mains located in the southwest portion of the city. The project includes 5,760 lineal feet of HDPE water main installation via directional drill, 1,970 lineal feet of Ductile Iron water main via open cut, and 3,384 lineal feet of HDPE water main via pipe burst. A total of (11) 8 Inch gate valve and wells, (3) 12 Inch gate valve and wells, (4) 8 Inch gate valve and d-box’s, (2) 12 Inch gate valve and d-box’s, and (23) fire hydrants will be installed during construction. Approximately 263 lead service lines will be removed and replaced during the water main construction. The anticipated start date, weather permitting, is Monday July 1, 2024, substantially completed by Friday November 8, 2024, and final completion by Friday November 29, 2024.
