Description

In summary, site improvements for Wanda Park and Geary Park include the following:

Wanda Park improvements will include: earth moving and shaping; installation of concrete and stabilized crushed stone pathways; installation of concrete headers; installation of concrete furniture pads; subgrade prep and backfill in planting areas; irrigation; and electrical work. Contractor will coordinate with Owner to allow site removals; utility work; installation of playground structures; installation of pavilion structure; placement of playground surfacing; and installation of landscape plantings, trees and turf restoration. Add alternates include installation of chain link fencing; installation of a kit-of-parts pavilion structure furnished by Owner; and installation of plantings and trees.

Geary Park improvements will include: earth moving and shaping; installation of asphalt and concrete pathways; installation of concrete headers; installation of concrete furniture pads; installation of fitness equipment furnished by Owner; subgrade prep and backfill in planting areas; and tree planting. Contractor will coordinate with Owner to allow site removals; water line installation; placement of exercise area surfacing; and turf restoration. Add alternates include installation and surfacing and/or striping of asphalt basketball court, as well as installation of basketball hoops and posts; installation of additional pathways and tree planting; and installation of a concrete and unit paver plaza with cast-in-place terraced and retaining walls.

The City of Ferndale will also publish an RFP for our Schiffer Park Improvement Project during the week of December 9th (the "Schiffer Project"). The scope of work for the Schiffer Project will be similar to that described in this current bid for Wanda and Geary parks. Each bidder for this current project is also encouraged to bid on the upcoming Schiffer Project and will have an oppourtunity to identify any cost saving(s) the City of Ferndaly could receive if such bidder is awarded all three park projects (Wanda, Geary and Schiffer parks).
