Description

The work consists of the installation of 4,097 feet of 18-inch to 60-inch sanitary sewer along Michigan Avenue between Harrison Street and Highland Avenue and running along W Brody Road to the RTB building and the installation of 2,055 feet of 12 inch to 30 inch storm sewer along Michigan Avenue between Harrison Street and Highland Avenue. Work also consists of the installation of new junction chambers, the installation of siphon chambers, and modifications to existing chambers and manholes. The project includes excavation, bypass pumping, the installation of new sanitary and combined sewer via open cut, jack and bore and directional drilling methods, the installation of new storm sewer, the rehabilitation of existing sanitary and storm sewers and manholes, the removal and abandonment of the existing sanitary and storm sewers, the installation of a new junction chambers and siphon chambers, the removal of existing pavement, the installation of new HMA pavement, sidewalk and concrete drive replacement, and overall site restoration in the City of East Lansing, in Ingham County, Michigan.

Event Note

A mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held at 10 a.m. on December 17, 2018, at the City of East Lansing Department of Public Works, 1800 E. State Road, East Lansing, MI 48823. Representatives of Owner and Engineer will be present to discuss the Project. Bidders are required to attend and participate in the conference and tour of the Site. Prospective Bidders who fail to attend and register at the meeting will be disqualified from bidding for the Work. ENGINEER will transmit to all prospective Bidders of record such Addenda as ENGINEER considers necessary in response to questions arising at the conference. Oral statements may not be relied upon and will not be binding or legally effective.

Bids shall be on a unit price basis with lump sum prices for certain items of the Work.

The Drawings and Project Manual under which the Work is to be done are on file and may be examined at the office of the ENGINEER, Tetra Tech, Inc. 401 S. Washington Square Suite 100, Lansing, Michigan 48933. Also available for review only at Construction Association of Michigan in Bloomfield Hills and at Builders Exchange in Lansing, Michigan 48933.

Bidding Documents may be obtained on December 3, 2018. Plans will be available to view, purchase or download from from Bidnet as part of the Michigan MITN System. Registration to MITN is available through their toll free support department at 1-800-835-4603 option #2.

A Bid Security in the form of a certified check, bank check, or Bid Bond for a sum not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the Bid will be required with each Bid.

The right is reserved by OWNER to accept any Bid, to reject any Bid, and to waive irregularities in Bids.
