Sealed proposals endorsed “2025 & 2026 Asphalt Resurfacing Program - Contract # 2-25(P) & 2-26(P)” will be received from contractors by the City of Birmingham, at the office of the City Clerk, located at 151 Martin Street, Birmingham, Michigan, until 10:00 A.M. local time, on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. The proposals will be opened and publicly read aloud at that time. Bids submitted after the exact time specified for receipt will not be considered.
This project includes various asphalt resurfacing and maintenance measures installed over existing asphalt pavements to extend the pavement service life, along with localized pavement repaires.
Major work items include: approximatley 12,448 square yards of pavement milling, 1206 tons of 5EML HMA, 1.56 roadbed miles of crack sealing on local streets, 5935 square feet of retaining wall, and concrete curb and sidewalk replacement to make a complete project.
Bidders shall review and comply with all Contract Documents, and supplemental information, as defined in the Information For Bidders.
Bidding documents for this project must be obtained electronically through the Michigan Inter-governmental Trade Network (MITN), which may be accessed at https://www.bidnetdirect.com/mitn. Vendors wishing to obtain copies of the bidding documents will need to register through the MITN website. Electronic versions of bidding documents will be posted to MITN starting Friday, December 19, 2025.
The successful bidder shall be required to post bonds, and to comply with the contract requirements of the City Charter. Bids are firm, and no bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after opening of bids.
Procurement for the City of Birmingham will be handled in a manner providing fair opportunity for all businesses. This will be accomplished without abrogation or sacrifice of quality and as determined to be in the best interest of the City of Birmingham. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bid proposals, to waive any irregularity in any of the bid proposals submitted, and to accept any proposal which it shall deem to be the most favorable to the interest of the City.
