RFP-930 - Fiber Optic Network Design and Engineering Services

Summary of Specifications:
The City of Ann Arbor (City) is soliciting proposals from vendors (referred to hereafter as “Consultant” or “Contractor”) for Outside Plant Network Design, Fiber Route Planning and Permitting for construction of an institutional network in the City of Ann Arbor. The City intends to replace an existing leased aerial fiber optic network with a City owned fiber optic network capable of providing gigabit+ connectivity and backhaul for several sites located throughout the City of Ann Arbor. The City’s primary goal is to construct an institutional network infrastructure (referred to hereafter as “A2-INET”) that will accommodate the current and future needs of the City of Ann Arbor. When complete, A2-INET will provide a resilient core network capability for current and future operations allowing for growth, expansion and scalability. This RFP is for engineering design and permitting only. The City of Ann Arbor will prepare a separate RFP and solicit proposals for Phase II and Phase III.
