Description

REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
In order to provide Clinton Township with contractors and subcontractors who will carry out the work in a timely and satisfactory manner, an approved prequalification for the following categories must be on file with the Township prior to the bid opening.  

  • Water main Replacement in an existing residential or commercially developed area.
  • Horizontal Directional Drilling for water main or low pressure sewers.
 
Since this project is to be permitted by the Macomb County Department of Roads (MCDR), the proposed paving contractor must meet all qualification standards for the MCDR.  The general contractor shall disclose the paving contractor to be used for this project.  The qualifications for the paving contractor to be used on the project will be reviewed on the basis of the proposed bidder’s past performance on work of a similar nature for Clinton Township and the Macomb County Department of Roads.  Contact Giffels Webster to obtain submittal requirements for all prequalification categories.
 
The work consists of:
LITTLE MACK AVENUE PAVING AND WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT
1.      6,383 Square Yards of 8” Conc. Pavement Replacement along Little Mack Avenue
2.      303 Square Yards of 8” HMA Pavement Replacement
3.      204 Square Yards of 9” Conc. Pavement Replacement in 15 Mile Road
4.      479 Square Yards of 6” Conc. Driveway Replacement
5.      6,482 Square Feet of 4” and 6” Conc. Sidewalk Replacement
6.      1,375 Linear Feet of 8” C-900 Fusible PVC Water Main Replacement (Horizontal Directionally Drilled)
7.      1,762 Linear Feet of 8” C-900 PVC Water Main Replacement (Open Cut)
8.      182 Linear Feet of 12” C-900 PVC Water Main Replacement (Open Cut)
9.      Other miscellaneous work-related items.
 
Bids shall be submitted on the forms provided by the Owner and shall be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond, payable to the Charter Township of Clinton for an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total base bid price.  An Insurance Acord meeting the requirements herein shall be submitted by all bidders.
 
The accepted bidder shall be required to furnish a satisfactory performance bond, labor and material bond in the amount of 100% of the contract price, and maintenance and guarantee bond of 50% for two years of the final contract price.  The cost of the bonds is to be paid by the accepted bidder.
 
Each bidder agrees to waive any claim it has or may have against the Owner, Architect/Engineer, and their respective employees, arising out of or in connection with the administrative, evaluation, or recommendation of any bid. The Township reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, in whole or in part, and to waive any informalities, therein when such waiver is in the interest of the Charter Township of Clinton, and to award the contract to other than the low bidder.
 
Bids shall remain firm for a period of ninety (90) days.
