RFP-082013 - Boiler Replacement Proposal

Summary of Specifications:
The Housing Department will be removing three (3) inefficient boilers original to the building and replacing them with three (3) boilers that need to conform to the following specifications: 

Specifications: • Remove three (3) existing boilers and related piping as necessary for placement of 3 new boilers. • New boilers to be Lochinvar KBN801XL Knight XL CSD-1 800,000 BTU input or equivalent. • Existing system circulators to remain. • Existing expansion tank to remain. • New CALEFFI 551100A 4" air separator or equivalent to be installed. • Electrical wiring and CSD-1 upgrade to be done by a licensed electrician. • Old boilers to be removed with fee to be done as part of the successful bidders’ contract. • Wage rates for all trades to meet Davis-Bacon Labor Standards. 

• Existing boiler system controls to remain. • All work to be completed per engineered drawings, available upon request. 

Relevant Information: • All bids shall include unit spec sheets with proposal. • The timing of this project is critical as the installation is tied to Consumer Energy rebates and the impending cold weather.
