Montgomery County, Maryland (hereafter, County) borders the nation’s capital, serving over one million residents in one of the State’s most populous counties.
The Montgomery County Department of Police (the “Department”), located in Montgomery County, Maryland, includes approximately 1,300 sworn officers and approximately 650 support personnel. The
Department of Police was established in 1922, and today is responsible for policing a County with a population of over one million people.
The Departments Canine Unit provides specialized assistance to County, State and local law enforcement agencies through the use of highly trained canines. These canines may be utilized for tracking suspects or lost persons, searching buildings, fields and wooded areas, searching crime scenes for evidence, apprehending fleeing suspects, and to assist in incidents involving searches for explosives and narcotics.
The purpose of this Request for Proposal is to enter into multiple contracts with qualified and authorized veterinarians for the provision of Routine Veterinary Services for Police Canines to the Department of Police Canine Unit.
Note: The terms “Offeror” or “Contractor” are used interchangeably in this solicitation and refer to the successful veterinarians selected for Contract award.
The contractor will provide Routine and Emergency Veterinary Services for the Montgomery County Police Department Canine Unit. There is no guarantee of any specific amount or volume of services to be provided or of any specific amount of funds to be encumbered under any contract resulting from this Solicitation.
