Pursuant to IC 67-2805, “Procurement of “Public Works Construction”, the City of Idaho Falls (OWNER), Idaho is requesting Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) from general/prime contractors who are interested in bidding on the above referenced project. Only pre-qualified contractors will be allowed to bid the project as a general/prime contractor and perform the elevated water tank demolition.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The work consists of the demolition of the 0.5 million gallon (MG) legged elevated tank, approximately 185 feet tall. The tank is located within campus of Idaho Falls Power. The project will generally include demolishing the tank and associated features, proper disposal including hazardous waste disposal of lead-coated tank parts, as well surface restoration of pavement and other finished surfacing and above ground features that were disturbed during the project. The project has an expected duration of 6-weeks after the Notice to Proceed. The engineer’s opinion of probable cost is presently estimated between $200,000 and $500,000.

ADDRESSES AND MARKING OF QUALIFICATION PACKET: Interested contractors can submit their package through the bid net direct platform or by submitting three (3) copies of their response in the format outlined in the packet. Packets shall be sealed and addressed to the:

The envelope shall be plainly marked in the upper left-hand corner with the name and address of the contractor and shall bear the words “Qualification Packet for Idaho Falls Elevated Water Tank Demolition Project #2-37-24-1-WTR-2026-24.” Sealed Qualification Packets will be received at the office of Public Works Department until no later than 10:00 A.M., Local Time, Tuesday, August 26, 2025, and will then be reviewed by the OWNER.
Contractors are not required to have an Idaho Public Works Contractor’s license prior to their qualification’s submittal. Subsequently, bids for construction will only be accepted from qualified general contractors who prior to construction bid opening, hole current licenses as Public Works Contractors in the State of Idaho.
The OWNER reserves the right to reject any and all Qualification Submittals, to waive any informalities and irregularities in said submittals and to approve the submittals which serves the best interest of the OWNER. The OWNER will notify each applicant of their qualification status within a period not to exceed thirty (30) days from the opening date.
Successful applicants will be provided plans and bid documents, notified of the time, date, and place for the public opening of construction bids for the Elevated Water Tank Demolition Project. It is anticipated that bid documents will be provided to qualified bidders in September 2025.
The OWNER reserves the right to cancel or postpone contractor qualification for the project and overall project construction.
