Hernando County Board of County Commissioners is soliciting General Contractors or Building Contractors that are active in installation of transit stop improvements at transit bus stops.
The project is designed to provide accessible boarding and alighting areas (concrete landing areas) and other associated improvements at the selected fixed route transit stop locations.

Additional Bidding Instructions

The overall goal for the Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT) Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program for FHWA assisted contracts is established on a triennial basis. The overall goal for federal fiscal years 2018-2020 has been set at 10.65% utilizing the methodologies described in 49 CFR Part 26. The DBE participation goal for this Contract is set at 2%. This goal represents those elements of work under this Contract performed by qualified Disadvantaged Business Enterprises for amounts totaling not less than 2% of the total Contract price.  Failure to meet the stated goal at the time of proposal submission may render the Bidder non-responsive.
Good Faith Efforts - If the Bidder is unable to meet the goal set forth above (DBE Participation Goal), Hernando County will consider the Bidder’s documented good faith efforts to meet the goal in determining responsiveness.
DBE includes suppliers and sub-contractors.
