GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The work consists of providing hazardous waste remediation services, as described herein, as assigned by individual task orders issued to access the master contract. The purpose of the work is to remediate hazardous waste, toxic substances, solid waste and petroleum contaminated sites as regulated by State and Federal statutes and regulations on an “as needed” basis for RFTA’s current and prospective locations. RFTA envisions two potential sites to investigate/remediate in 2020: Glenwood Springs Maintenance Operations Center Building Demolition and the RFTA Aspen Maintenance Facility fuel tank farm replacement.
The work may include, but is not limited to, excavation, hauling and disposal of contaminated soil, treatment/remediation of contaminated soil, remediation of contaminated surface water and groundwater. Remedial alternatives for all media shall be evaluated prior to implementation considering factors such as cost, effectiveness, permitting, time frame, visual impact, etc. once the preferred alternative is selected it shall be implemented. The scope shall also include disposal of contaminated water, sampling, monitoring and remediation of indoor air, risk assessment of contaminated sites, responding to and remediating spills, operation and maintenance of ongoing remedial systems, decommissioning remedial systems, conducting fate and transport modeling, site investigation/characterization, and site restoration. Conducting site surveys and preparing Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) plans.
