2024001 - Region 10 Network Operations & Maintenance

Region 10 seeks to establish a one-year contract with the selected service provider, with the option for two-year renewals based on performance and mutual agreement. Established in 1972, Region 10  is a 501C3 non-profit organization offering public programs in support of eighteen local communities and six counties in western Colorado. With Region 10 acting as fiscal agent, the group received grant funding to develop a regional broadband network.  
 
The plan includes operating a middle-mile fiber optic network (network) that connects all of the Region 10 counties and communities and its anchor institutions – government offices, healthcare providers and hospitals, schools and universities, public safety and law enforcement offices and key stakeholders. This network is a combination of leases of existing fiber optic lines and limited construction to provide a “middle mile” infrastructure that connects to Carrier Neutral Locations (CNLs), open access points in each of the participating communities. The network is available for private “last mile” providers to deliver high-speed internet service to businesses and homes.
