The Pueblo West Metropolitan District (“District”) is soliciting competitive bids from qualified and interested Contractors for the repair of The Coyote Trail. This project consists of approximately 1350 SY of Damaged Asphalt Trail Repair, 3,900 SY of Fine Grading and 240 LF of Re-Establishment of Roadside Swale work. As shown in map in Appendix “A”. All work will be accomplished utilizing CDOT Standard Specification 2023. https://www.codot.gov/business/designsupport/cdot-construction-specifications/2023-construction-specifications/2023-specs-book. The repair project consists of existing asphalt removal and disposal, base course removal and disposal (limited areas), base course replacement, subgrade preparation (limited areas), Hot Mixed Asphalt and revegetation of disturbed areas. Asphalt area to be repaired shall be saw cut to achieve a straight perpendicular edge, the existing damaged asphalt pavement material shall be removed to 3-inches below asphalt finished grade, in areas that the failure has caused subgrade damages the existing base course shall be removed, Class 6 base course shall be placed and compacted per the standard specification included herein prior to placement of Hot Mixed Asphalt. Existing vertical surfaces shall be prepped with “Tack Oil”. 95% of the patched surface shall match the plane of the adjacent undisturbed surface, when measured by means of a six-foot straightedge or beam, within one-eighth of inch. Some areas will require fine grading to facilitate stormwater flows. If any additional material is required to provide positive flow the material will be provided by PWMD. The roadside swale along the south edge of Spaulding Ave. will need to be re-established to accommodate stormwater flows . All disturbed areas will be stabilized by the application of fertilizers, soil amendment, seed bed preparation and placing of seed. All permits will be the responsibility of the Contractor. Material testing to be provided by the District.
