The Pueblo West Metropolitan District (“District”) is soliciting competitive bids from qualified Contractors for the construction/repair of approximately 65 sections of railroad tie fencing along the north and south right-of-way lines of US Highway 50 West from Purcell Boulevard to West McCulloch Boulevard. These sections add up to approximately 2400 linear feet of fence repair/construction.
The Contractor shall furnish all expertise, labor, supervision, equipment, tools, and materials necessary for the repair/construction of the railroad tie fencing. Any permits, traffic control, seeding, etc. shall be included in the bid.
- Contractor shall meet with District Project Manager at the site to review all existing materials and site conditions to receive direction regarding materials to be reused and/or disposed.
- Contractor shall take special care to not damage existing vegetation. If areas are disturbed/damaged, Contractor will be responsible for reseeding those areas.
- All traffic control will be the responsibility of the Contractor. Access will be from US State Highway 50 West and adjacent Pueblo County roadways. All permits from appropriate jurisdictions will be required.
- A mobile sanitary facility shall be provided by the Contractor. All field facilities should be on-site and in good working order prior to the start of construction. Maintenance of the sanitary facility should include cleaning at least twice a week.
- Utility locates shall be performed prior to driving in rebar for fence anchors.
- The Bid Item, Fence Repair, refers to sections of the fence that are down and all or some all ties are present on site. The District Project Manager will meet with the Contractor and determine what ties (if any) will need to be replaced at all Repair sections.
- The Bid Item, Fence Install, refers to sections of the fence that all or the majority of the ties are missing. This Bid Item shall include all materials for the complete reinstall of the missing sections.
- The Bid Item, Railroad Ties, refers to ties that are to be used during the Repair of existing fence sections when the District Project Manager deems ties missing or damaged and are in need of being replaced.
Funding for this project is limited, therefore; sections of fence repairs/construction will be awarded on an add alternative basis
