The AMH shall be a seven (7) bin automated check-in and sorting solution, with one (1) exterior book drop. The system shall connect via standard interface protocol (SIP2) for easy integration to the Library’s current (and any future) integrated library system (ILS). The current logic in the ILS, which uses numeric values assigned to patron and material records, shall be used in the same manner with Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology, requiring no need for patron or material data migration. The item returns will be connected through a wall to a horizontal‐to‐incline conveyance that will move items onto the seven (7) bin check‐in and sorting system, which will check‐in the items by reading an RFID tag in the item. If this action is successful, items will be automatically deposited into wheeled bins. Sort locations will have been pre‐programmed based on library sort requirements, and the system has the ability to communicate bid load. If items fail to be read by the system, they will automatically be deposited in an exception‐bin.
