North Star Nature Preserve and the surrounding area east of Aspen, is an ecological sanctuary that encompasses significant wildlife and riparian habitat. Pitkin County Open Space and Trails and the City of Aspen have been working over the past year with many partners to revise the management plan for the property to address new issues that have surfaced over the past 15 years. One action item that is a main priority for the County and City is to revise and expand existing educational signage on the preserve and create an Interpretive Services Plan.
