We are looking for bids for weed treatment in Gilpin County for four separate projects. County ROW treatment (not to exceed $2,000, roads will be prioritized for treatment), and treating acreages on three private properties. The Contractor shall locate, map, treat, and monitor the following List B Noxious Weeds on the private parcels: Canada thistle (~100 acres), leafy spurge (~2 acres), oxeye daisy (~75 acres), and wild caraway (~10 acres). Treatment to be done mostly via boom spray, but may also involve a little use of a hand gun) – not to exceed $7,000 for the three properties (unless arranged with the property owners and Extension to go over this amount). Work will be coordinated with Gilpin Extension.
- Service/Requirements
The Contractor must:
- Be licensed and insured, and have a solid understanding of grazing restrictions and ROW legalities.
- For map data, the Contractor shall geo-reference and report accurate locations of targeted noxious weed populations and treatments associated with this project.
- The contractor shall use a handheld GPS-enabled device (includes phones and tablets) or website.
- Communicate with landowners to work out timing of treatment on private parcels.
- Keep track of time and not exceed maximum specified amounts, unless with prior approval.
- Treat the areas sometime between the end of June and end of July, coordinating with the Extension office.
- Illegal Aliens: As required by C.R.S. Section 8-17.5-102, the Contractor will need to certify the following: I (we) do hereby certify that, as of the date of this certification, I (we) do not knowingly employ or contract with an illegal alien and that I (we) have confirmed the employment eligibility of all employees who are newly hired for employment in the United States, through participation in the basic pilot program.
Please give your current hourly rate for both boom spray and hand gun, and materials fees in your bid, and any trip charges. The work needs to happen in July. Proposals must be submitted by June 25.
