Summary of Specifications:
The Colorado Works program (also known as TANF or Temporary Assistance to Needy Families) is a federal, state and locally funded program for children needing support due to a parent’s incapacity, absence or unemployment. Cash assistance is available to eligible low-income families on a time-limited basis through TANF. The purpose of the program is to provide temporary support in meeting basic needs, training that leads to employment, employment services and child care assistance for qualified families with dependent children. Colorado Works is an employment program in which parents are expected to engage in approved work activities such as education, on-the-job training, community service, Community Work Experience Program (CWEP) and/or employment. Colorado Works is administered through county departments of social/human services. Douglas County Department of Human Services (Department) is seeking independent contractors to provide intensive case management and employment services and supports, including evaluation of job readiness, assessment of and services related to addressing barriers to successful job placement/retention including but not limited to substance abuse, domestic violence, mental health issues, individuals with learning or developmental disabilities, vocational rehabilitation and/or vocational training, remedial education, employment readiness/preparation, , job coaching, on-the-job training, supported employment and post-employment services for recipients of Colorado Works.
