Summary of Specifications:
Separate sealed bids for 2009 Asphalt Overlay Project, Douglas County Project Number CI 09-002 will be received by the Owner, Douglas County Government, Department of Public Works, Phillip S. Miller Building, 100 Third Street, Castle Rock, CO 80104, until Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at 2:00 pm. This project includes the placement of approximately 47,000 Tons of asphalt overlay, patching, pavement marking, and traffic control at various locations throughout Douglas County.
The Contract Documents may be examined at the above address after 10:00 a.m., on Monday, March 2, 2009, and copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained upon payment of $25.00 for each set. The $25.00 is non-refundable. (Additional charge if mailing is required).
A PRE-BID CONFERENCE will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at 1:00 p.m., at the Department of Public Works, Phillip S. Miller Building, 100 Third Street, Castle Rock, CO 80104, Conference Rooms A&B, First Floor. The Bid Opening will be conducted on Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at 2:00 p.m., the Department of Public Works, Phillip S. Miller Building, 100 Third Street, Castle Rock, CO 80104 in the Engineering Conference Room, Second Floor.
The Project includes the following major items and approximate quantities:
• Removal of Asphalt Mat (Planing) – 192,000 SY; • Aggregate Base Course (Class 6) – 1,800 TONS; • Concrete Pavement and Curb Ramp – 1,200 SY; • Hot Mix Asphalt (Grading SX) Paving – 47,000 TONS; • Hot Mix Asphalt (Grading S) Small and Large Patching - 6,500 TONS; • Preformed Plastic Pavement Markings – (Crosswalks) – 1,300 SF; • Pavement Marking Paint –1,300 GAL; • Geotextiles – 33,000 SY
