Summary of Specifications:
Established in 2009, Denver Water’s youth education program is focused on the student population in its service area as a key audience for building a greater appreciation for the value of water. Over the past six years this program has grown exponentially, and currently includes classroom and web-based offerings and learning tools, as well as in-class presentations, field trips and tours. It also includes events such as the Denver Metro Water Festival, held in partnership with Metropolitan State University of Denver’s One World One Water program. Denver Water is seeking an experienced, conscientious water-education program developer to deliver, coordinate, monitor, evaluate and assist with design of Denver Water’s K-12 water-education program. The program reaches students in the state’s two largest school districts, Denver Public Schools and Jefferson County Public Schools, and in parts or all of seven other public school districts in Denver Water’s combined service area. The program also serves K-12-aged students in service area private schools, home schools, scout troops, etc. within the combined service area, and supports some limited efforts in Denver Water’s source watersheds.
