Denver Water is issuing this RFP for an administrator/custodian for its two defined contribution plans. Denver Water currently offers a 401(k) Plan and a 457 Plan. As of 12/31/2019, the 401(k) Plan had assets totaling $116.8 million and the 457 Plan had assets totaling $37.8 million. The plans are overseen by the Board of Water Commissioners, with the assistance of an independent investment consulting firm, Ellwood. As a governement entity, the Denver Water Plans are not subject to ERISA. Empower is the current record keeper for the defined contribution plans. All participant functions are done in a self-service capacity (i.e. enrollment, ditribution requests, etc.) are all processed online). If Denver Water elects to change to a new record keeper, the anticipated conversion date is December 29, 2020.
