SSN-2023-165-JS - MIRA Ultra CH4 and C2H6 Gas Detection System

Colorado State University hereby gives notice of its intent to purchase an Aeris Technologies, Inc., MIRA Ultra CH4 and C2H6 Gas Detection System with cellular modems, Swagelok inlet ports, GPS functionality, and an IP65 rated weather enclosure case. CSU’s Energy Institute Methane Emissions Technology Evaluation Center (METEC) is working on a research project to quantify methane and ethane emissions in the Denver-Julesburg Basin of Colorado. METEC will accomplish this by measuring very small (parts per billion) changes in methane/ethane concentrations in a well mixed boudary layer using a specialized, remotely-located tower network that will operate in the DJ Basin.  The changes in methane/ethane concentrations will be used as input for an inversion model that can be be used to quantify full-basin (100 x 100 km) methane and ethane emissions at 2 x 2 km resolution.  The MIRA Ultra CH4 and C2H6 Gas Detection System has custom gas handling within the instrument for high accuracy measurements and provides a weatherproof enclosure to withstand weather conditions typically seen in the Colorado Summers (90*F+) and winters (-10*F).
