SSN-2024-119-JS - FOSS NIRS DS3 Flour Analyzer System

Colorado State University hereby gives notice of its intent to purchase a FOSS NIRS DS3 flour analyzer system. The Wheat Quality Lab in the Department of Soil and Crop Science’s at Colorado State University (CSU) intends to purchase the NIRS DS3 flour analyzer system to upgrade the instruments used currently in the lab. The Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS) is the most critical element in the throughput of samples analyzed in the lab and this instrument will allow CSU to obtain the necessary data via NIRS prediction. The NIRS DS3 enables lab analysis to determine protein, moisture, and ash, of whole wheat and wheat flour samples. The system is capable of providing single-kernel characterization system (SKCS) hardness numbers and CIELAB (L*a*b*) color values, which are needed for CSU’s research and teaching requirements.
