RFP-GM-97613 - Engineering Services Tesla Hydroelectric Plant Generator Repair

Summary of Specifications:
Colorado Springs Utilities (UTILITIES) is soliciting proposals from qualified engineering firms for engineering services associated with repairing the generator at the Tesla Hydroelectric Plant, in Colorado Springs, Colorado (Work). UTILITIES’ primary objective for this project is safety; the secondary objective is performing the Work that is delineated in this statement of work. 

The unit’s generator’s iron core and stator windings will be replaced. Partial Arc Discharge (PDA) monitoring indicates that that the stator winding insulation is degrading. UTILITIES has investigated the lead time for the procurement of the iron core and stator windings, the delivery time is approximately one (1) year after the award of a contract. The new iron core and stator winding system shall be a robust design, with a design life of thirty (30) years.
