Colorado School of Mines (“Mines”) is seeking qualified firms (“Contractor” or “Bidder”) to provide specialized geologic data processing services (“Services”) to support the digitization and attribution of complex legacy geologic maps. These Services must be delivered in accordance with the United States Geological Survey (“USGS”) Geologic Map Schema (“GeMS”) to ensure consistency, interoperability, and long-term data stewardship. The selected vendors will be responsible for manually digitizing intricate geologic linework and point features, entering detailed attribute data, and formatting the resulting geospatial data to meet all GeMS specifications. The work requires demonstrated expertise in geologic mapping conventions, advanced geographic information system (“GIS”) technologies, and strict adherence to federal metadata standards.
Bids must reflect the Bidder’s capability to deliver fully GeMS-compliant digital geologic maps and metadata. These services are critical to CGS’s mission of providing high-quality, standardized geoscientific information for public use, hazard assessment, land-use planning, and resource management.
Mines will select the number of vendors that meet our requirements. It is Mines’ intent to establish an “Approved Contractors List.” If awarded, there is no guarantee of work. Awarded vendors will be contacted by a Mines representative as services are needed.
The final Approved Contractor List will be valid for five (5) years from the date of award.
All awarded Contractors will sign a Master Task Order (“MTO”) Agreement. A sample agreement is attached as Exhibit A. As services are needed, a task order and purchase order will be issued for purchases exceeding $5,000.00. For purchases less than $5,000.00, the department may pay by credit card or check.
