IFB 18-107 NM - DTR Leased Bus for SUCAP

Statement of Work:
Introduction
The Colorado Department of Transportation is seeking bids to lease a “Body on Chassis” transit vehicle for no longer than six months to be used by the Southern Ute Community Action Program (SUCAP) to operate fixed route inter-city transit between Durango, CO and Grand Junction. SUCAP will provide all maintenance (including proposer’s preventative maintenance requirements) and all fluids needed during the lease payment period. SUCAP will provide all CDL drivers. Proposer will provide all training on driving and maintenance of the vehicle.
The approximate number of revenue operating days is 130 days, five (5) days per week, 480 miles per day.
This fixed route service will be traveling daily through the Colorado high country with altitudes exceeding 10,000 ft.
Vehicle Specification
One (1) body on chassis seating a minimum of 20 passengers, two (2) wheel chair securement positions and driver.

5. Engine – 6.8 liter V-10 Triton or approved equal
6. Passenger capacity – 22 plus 2 wheel chair securement positions

8. Seating color and fabric – Proposer’s option
9. Air Conditioning Output rating – 82 BTU
10. Heat Output rating – 65 BTU
11. Outside color – Proposer’s option
12. Floor Type – Gerflor Sirius or approved equal
13. Floor Color – Proposer’s option
14. Permanent rear luggage 30” exterior rear compartment
15. Seatbelt type – lap restraint
16. Entrance Door – 29 inch entrance door equipped with wheel chair ramp.
17. Wheel chair floor securement – two (2) securement stations with Qstraint wheel chair restraint system.
18. Hydraulic drop down chains equipped on the drive axle.

1. Term of lease – 6 months – From December 1, 2017 to May 30, 2018
2. SUCAP will provide all necessary insurance coverage including $5,000,000 in Automobile Liability coverage.
