The City of Fruita (“City”) is seeking quotes from qualified contractors to provide trash can servicing and litter control services for City parks.
The selected Contractor shall service more than 130 trash cans seven (7) days per week during the seasonal period of March 1 through November 30. All City parks open at 8:00 a.m., and trash cans are to be checked daily as close to park opening as reasonably possible. Trash cans shall be emptied on an as-needed basis to ensure cleanliness and prevent overflow. The City will provide dumpsters for waste disposal and will supply all required trash can liners during the term of the service. The Contractor shall be responsible for disposing of collected waste in the designated City-provided dumpsters.
In addition to trash can servicing, the Contractor shall provide litter control in the immediate areas surrounding trash cans and dumpster locations, including removal of loose trash and debris to maintain a clean and orderly appearance. During peak summer months, trash cans located near shelters, sports fields, or other high-use areas may require additional servicing the evening prior to scheduled events due to early start times. The frequency of such service will vary week to week based on facility rentals and event schedules and will be coordinated in advance by the City. Additional trash cans placed for special events, concerts, or park rentals will typically be serviced by the City’s Parks crew. However, the Contractor may be requested to service these additional cans upon approval by the City, with such services compensated at an additional agreed-upon fee.
